How Tofu Card Appraisal Works

Every Tofu card has a community-appraised value in clovers — the in-game currency. That number isn't arbitrary. It comes from a specific weighted formula, and understanding it means knowing what your cards are actually worth before you trade.

The four signals

1. Likes

The single strongest signal. Community likes on a character multiply the base value. A character with 500 likes is worth roughly 10× a character with 50 likes at the same edition + print — even if the print numbers are identical.

2. Edition

ED1 is worth roughly 2× the equivalent ED2 print. Event editions (W, SP, S, F seasons) slot between the two depending on how limited the print run was.

3. Print number

Print #1 is worth the most, and values decay non-linearly. A #1 might be 3,000c, a #10 might be 2,000c, a #100 might be 400c, and a #1000 might be 30c. The curve is steepest in the first 30 prints.

4. Quality

Cards degrade through use into Worn, Good, Great, Pristine, or Scarred states. Pristine is worth substantially more than Worn; a Scarred grade can knock 50%+ off the base value.

Real example — the top of the market

The single most valuable card in the archive is xnmg — a Satoru Gojo ED1 #3 print, worth ~7,349 clovers. That's the intersection of all four signals maxed out: Gojo has one of the highest character-like counts in the game, ED1 is the top-tier edition, #3 is a near-grail print, and the specific card is in Pristine condition.

For contrast, a Gojo ED1 #500 in Worn quality would be worth maybe 50-80 clovers. Same character, same edition — the print number and quality tank the value.

Where the number comes from

The appraisal engine reads Tofu's own community pricing guide plus recent trade history. It's not an official Tofu API — the Tofu bot doesn't publish real-time appraisals. This archive periodically scrapes the guide + trade logs, computes the appraisal, and caches it per card. Values on this site reflect the most recent scrape.
