Tofu Card Editions Explained

The Tofu Discord card bot prints cards across multiple editions — some evergreen, some seasonal. Understanding the edition system is the first step to knowing what any given card is actually worth.

The two main editions

ED1 — First edition

The original print of every character. Roughly 2.86 million ED1 cardsexist across the archive — about 48% of the entire card population. The market treats ED1 as the gold standard: a first-edition #1 print of a popular character is the most sought-after item in the game.

ED2 — Rerun edition

A second wave of prints released later. ~1.37 million ED2 cards exist (23% of the archive). Values are typically 40-60% of the equivalent ED1 print — a Gojo ED2 #3 is worth substantially less than the ED1 #3, even though both are early low-prints.

Event editions

Beyond ED1/ED2, Tofu releases seasonal event sets — smaller print runs that create genuine scarcity. These use letter-plus-year codes:

SP26, SP25, SP24, SP23 — Spring event editions
S24, S23, S22 — Summer editions
F25, F24, F23, F22 — Fall editions
W25, W24, W23, W22, W21 — Winter editions (W21 is the oldest event set still in circulation, with only ~50k cards left)

Event editions are usually pulled from event-specific drops — birthdays, holidays, or promotional Discord events. Their scarcity means print #1s in a winter or fall edition can rival ED2 prints in value.

How print numbers affect value

Every edition print is numbered in the order it was pulled. Print #1 is the first ever print of that character in that edition — permanently, irreversibly the first. Values cluster in bands:

#1 — the grail. There are only 15,090 ED1 #1 prints in the entire archive.
#2-9 — near-grail. Traded at 60-90% of the #1's value.
#10-30 — collector prints. Half the value of a #1, but far more accessible.
#31-99 — trader prints. Most active trading happens in this range.
#100+ — bulk. Values drop off sharply.
